July 1st → September 23rd. Exactly 12 weeks. 🤍
A C-section is brutal, and mine definitely wasn’t planned. Max came into this world at 8 lbs 5 oz and 20.5 inches 😲my big baby 🥹 and those first few weeks were rough. There were definitely moments where I didn’t really see the light at the end of the tunnel.
But I gave myself grace and kept everything VERY basic.
I focused on eating healthy, wholesome, anti-inflammatory foods, loving on my baby, letting my body heal, and WALKING. My walks started small and now I’m up to a little over 3 miles a day. I’ve slowly added gentle core work like breathing exercises and supported planks. Nothing crazy, nothing aggressive, and definitely no rushing.
I also wear my Sweet Sweat support/sauna belt on some of my longer walks because I personally like the extra sweat and support 😁not because sweating itself magically burns belly fat 😂
And honestly, sticking to the basics has been everything.
Nutrition. Walking. Breath work. Gentle core restoration. Patience. Healing.
As my core has started getting stronger again, my back has also been feeling so much better. After labor, an epidural, and then an unplanned C-section, rebuilding that support through my trunk has been really important to me.
So to any C-section mama looking at herself a few weeks postpartum thinking, how am I ever going to feel like myself again? 🤲 give yourself time. You do not need some magical ab exercise. Eat well, move your body when you’re cleared and ready, take your walks, breathe, love on your baby, and let your body recover at its own pace.
This is 12 weeks of healing and progress 💪July 1st to September 23rd. And I’m pretty damn proud of it. 🥹🤍
