This week's UVA Engineering Employer Spotlight featured Rolls-Royce, the engineering force behind many technologies used in the air, at sea and on land for more than 100 years. UVA Engineering is home to the Rolls-Royce University Technology Center on Advanced Materials Systems, one of only three Rolls-Royce UTCs in the United States. It focuses on world-class, collaborative research related to advanced material systems for extreme aerospace environments.

Students had the chance to connect with Rolls-Royce to learn more about the company and its paths in civil aerospace, defense, power generation and research. This event provided opportunities to learn, network, practice interviewing skills and get a first-row glimpse at what a career with Rolls-Royce might look like.

UVA Engineering alumni and current Rolls-Royce employees Alice Pandaleon and Finley Pettitt, both materials science and engineering graduates, along with Morgan Carr, a mechanical engineering graduate, joined students for the event and shared their experiences building careers after graduation.
