A Swiss-themed dinner party with, my old SCHOOL FRIENDS 😂🇨🇭

I’ve known these lads since I was about five, and yesterday they came over with their wives and partners for an evening inspired by my recent trip to Switzerland.

We started with crispy potato rösti with Gruyère, nutmeg and herbs, topped with sautéed garlic miso mushrooms. Then out came the raclette machine, which I’ve had for years and really don’t use enough. Melted raclette cheese over boiled potatoes with loads of toppings… honestly, what’s not to love? 🧀

And to finish: chocolate orange brownie with white chocolate ice cream. Nobody was leaving hungry.

But the best bit was sitting around the table, laughing and digging up memories with people who knew me long before the doctor bit.

All these years later, still the same lads. Just better cheese

I had the most wonderful birthday in upstate New York at @thesistersofcedarlakes with a small group of close family and friends. No phones allowed, but we had a bunch of disposable cameras lying around and these are some of the photos I got back. And sorry ran out of tags to tag people.

If you’re in Islamabad and love a proper desi nashta @chatthastheauthentic is a must-visit!

Some breakfasts just hit differently, and this one was an absolute treat! ❤️ From their delicious channay, aloo and halwa puri to the cheese omelette with parathas, everything was worth trying. And the sweet paratha? Simply mouthwatering! 😍

But the real highlight for me was the gurr wali chai ☕ honestly, one of the best cups of chai to enjoy with a traditional Pakistani breakfast.

If you’re visiting Islamabad and looking for a place to satisfy your desi nashta cravings, Chattha’s definitely deserves a spot on your list! 🇵🇰
