An update on our sweet Jax. ❤️ His surgery lasted five hours. Dr. Corbin at Granite Veterinary Specialists repaired his ruptured bladder and torn urethra, removed a testicle, and put his pelvis back together with four plates and a whole lot of screws. His little body has been through so much. He is bruised and sore, but he has been put back together. Now we need his muscles and nerves to remember what to do. Jax is living proof of the power of prayer. For 13 years, he has helped Korey and me raise our kids. He goes everywhere with us and has been part of nearly every chapter of our family’s story. We promised Ashlyn that Jax would be here when she gets home from her mission, and we’re doing everything we can to keep that promise. I can’t begin to express our gratitude for Dr. Corbin and the incredible staff who have cared for Jax. Their skill gave him a chance, but the tenderness with which they’ve loved on him has meant just as much to us. Our emotions have been pretty tender these past few days. We know we still have a long road ahead, and there are no guarantees. But I believe in the power of prayer, and I believe Heavenly Father loves these beautiful animals as much as we do. After all, they are His creation, too. Thank you for loving our Jax and praying alongside us. ❤️🙏🫶
