The hope in every fellow Gazan’s heart and mind is buried beneath millions of tonnes of rubble and hundreds of thousands of dead bodies. And this is not even the hope of a better future; it is simply the hope of surviving a never-ending genocide.

Hope is never truly dead, yet it is not even alive. The suffering is so immense that it has become impossible to feel anything but terror and anger, not only towards the enemy, but also towards everyone who has yet to do anything to stop the sheer injustice being inflicted upon us.

What a privilege it is to be safe and cared for here. What guilt and anger I carry in my heart, knowing that I am free while my own family and friends are not, and that I cannot share this freedom with them.

It is abominable how much of our lives we spend simply trying to survive, struggling to prove our worth in a world that seems to care about everything but us.

The occupation has not only changed us; it has changed the entire world. Anyone who can look away from our suffering, who cannot even spare a thought for us, reveals a profound lack of humanity and kindness.

The occupation and those who support it must, and will, eventually, be held accountable for their actions and their words.

The time will come when the whole world finally sees us for who we are: a people of extraordinary steadfastness and resilience, a people who have endured what no human being should ever have to endure, and who have refused to surrender their humanity despite everything. We will be seen, heard, and remembered for generations to come.
