The history of Rob and Mark’s rides so far, which have raised over £4.5 million for MND research ➡️

2018: The beginning.
Inspired by Doddie’s diagnosis, in 2018 Rus Kesley set off on a mammoth challenge to cycle from his home in London to Murrayfield Stadium. This gave Rob an idea…

2019: Murrayfield to Twickenham.
The following year Rob got involved and his first call was to world record cyclist Mark Beaumont. The pair were joined once again by Rus, and this time by Tom Leefe too, as they cycled the match ball from Edinburgh to Twickenham, raising just over £60,000.

2020: Wounded Lions 500.
An expanded group including a star-studded cast of British and Irish Lions cycled the return leg from London to Edinburgh to raise money for two causes close to their hearts - My Name’5 Doddie Foundation and 40Tude in support of Tom Smith.

2022: Doddie Cup 500.
Following an absence in 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, 2022’s challenge was centred around the Doddie Weir Cup as the group cycled from Edinburgh to Cardiff, giving themselves only 48 hours to complete the distance.

2023: Doddie Cup 555.
The group embarked on the return journey from Cardiff to Edinburgh, raising over £600,000 in the process.

2024: All Roads Lead to Rome.
Teams were tasked with making their way to Piazza Navona in Rome by 5pm on 8 March for a celebratory limoncello - with one rule: no flying allowed. Greeted by thousands at the finish line, our community turned Rome tartan!

2025: Doddie’s Grand Tour.
300+ riders took on 700 miles in four days travelling from Dublin across to the Southwest of Scotland. The journey concluded in Edinburgh’s Grassmarket, just ahead of Scotland’s clash with Ireland at Murrayfield. The challenge raised over £1 million for MND research.

2026: Doddie’s Triple Crown.
40+ teams rode through the four home nations in some brutal conditions, joined by Doddie’s wife Kathy who presented the match ball with Foundation ambassador Godon D’Arcy. A record year - raising over £1.6 million for MND research.

Doddie’s Oui Doddle 2027 is coming 🔜
