Caught @mrmarkbeaumont, @tomnutritionist and @flatwhiterides before the MOVE panel at @gleneaglestownhouse . 🎙️

Every one of them said the same thing in a different way: the work is won before you start. Water in. Food in. MOVE in. Then go.

The history of Rob and Mark’s rides so far, which have raised over £4.5 million for MND research ➡️

2018: The beginning.
Inspired by Doddie’s diagnosis, in 2018 Rus Kesley set off on a mammoth challenge to cycle from his home in London to Murrayfield Stadium. This gave Rob an idea…

2019: Murrayfield to Twickenham.
The following year Rob got involved and his first call was to world record cyclist Mark Beaumont. The pair were joined once again by Rus, and this time by Tom Leefe too, as they cycled the match ball from Edinburgh to Twickenham, raising just over £60,000.

2020: Wounded Lions 500.
An expanded group including a star-studded cast of British and Irish Lions cycled the return leg from London to Edinburgh to raise money for two causes close to their hearts - My Name’5 Doddie Foundation and 40Tude in support of Tom Smith.

2022: Doddie Cup 500.
Following an absence in 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, 2022’s challenge was centred around the Doddie Weir Cup as the group cycled from Edinburgh to Cardiff, giving themselves only 48 hours to complete the distance.

2023: Doddie Cup 555.
The group embarked on the return journey from Cardiff to Edinburgh, raising over £600,000 in the process.

2024: All Roads Lead to Rome.
Teams were tasked with making their way to Piazza Navona in Rome by 5pm on 8 March for a celebratory limoncello - with one rule: no flying allowed. Greeted by thousands at the finish line, our community turned Rome tartan!

2025: Doddie’s Grand Tour.
300+ riders took on 700 miles in four days travelling from Dublin across to the Southwest of Scotland. The journey concluded in Edinburgh’s Grassmarket, just ahead of Scotland’s clash with Ireland at Murrayfield. The challenge raised over £1 million for MND research.

2026: Doddie’s Triple Crown.
40+ teams rode through the four home nations in some brutal conditions, joined by Doddie’s wife Kathy who presented the match ball with Foundation ambassador Godon D’Arcy. A record year - raising over £1.6 million for MND research.

Doddie’s Oui Doddle 2027 is coming 🔜

🎙️ New episode of the Where We Ride Podcast is here — and this one is something special.

🌍 78 days. 18 hours a day on a bike. A world record. And the failures that almost stopped him.

@mrmarkbeaumont is one of the greatest endurance cyclists who has ever lived. And in this episode of Where We Ride, he opens up on preparation, obsession, mental resilience, and what it actually took to cycle around the world faster than anyone in history. But we also go somewhere more honest than that. The setbacks. The moments of doubt. The failures that quietly shaped everything he went on to achieve.

🎙️ This is endurance cycling at its rawest. And one of the best conversations we have had on @whereweridepodcast

Posting a day late…. but a note to say a huge thank you to all of you who have supported @tour_de4 and if you haven’t, it’s not too late.

@sarra.hoy @chrishoy1 and their amazing team have created something that not only supports the brilliant charities linked below, but also created a community defined by hope.

I had the absolute pleasure of cycling the 56 mile route with a pal who finished her cancer treatment 7 weeks ago. Not just was it her biggest cycle ever, it was also the celebration she deserved after a year that’s changed her life, and yet she is determined that it won’t define her.

That is the essence of Tour de 4, finding a positive out of a negative. A diagnosis of cancer is a rollercoaster that Chris’s book ‘All that Matters’ describes so powerfully and there is no gloss, but there can still be joy and friendship… and riding our bikes!
