25.09.2026 marks the day of our last day in our newly wed home and now into a season of a new space! It’s bittersweet, I’m happy to move on but will treasure every memory made.
Moving is a lot of work but it’s all apart of this little adventure of life😊

You probably have more finger strength than you’re using on the wall.

Three things to try:

1. Squeeze your fingers together. Actively adducting the fingers engages the intrinsic muscles of your hand, which can help stabilize the joints and make your grip feel like one rigid unit. You’ll notice it most on half crimps and full crimps.

2. Pre-gripping. Shape your hand and start activating your fingers before you touch the hold. Force takes time to build, so starting early can help you develop it sooner, especially on dynamic moves where you have very little time to set your grip.

3. Flex through your knuckles on slopers. Actively flexing at the MCP joints may change how your hand loads the hold and help with friction. It won’t work on every sloper, so experiment.

Holding on depends on more than the maximal force your finger flexors can produce. Coordination, activation, joint position, and how fast you can generate force all affect how much of your strength you can use.

These won’t build new strength in a session, but they can help you express the strength you already have.

Try them on easy climbs first and focus only on the hand position and timing.
