A Greek mageireio works a little differently. Much of the food has already been cooking for hours. You look at what is ready that day, choose what you feel like eating and sit down for a proper cooked meal. Tomorrow, the menu may be completely different.
Spending the evening with NAMI & @maybelline left me all smiles. So proud to be in a room full of people who care deeply about mental health awareness. Watching the one night only performance of “This Is Crazy” with actors like Natasha Rothwell and Marisa Tomei made me feel so many things: speechless, seen, empathetic. I’ve battled with my mental health and watched family and friends do the same through life’s many challenges, so this one hit close to home. It felt like a way to honor my late friend, who passed from suicide years ago. If you’re struggling and feel like you have no one you can call, please know you don’t have to carry it alone. Reach out: NAMI HelpLine: 1-800-950-6265 (text “HelpLine” to 62640) Suicide & Crisis Lifeline: call or text 988 #MentalHealthMonth
