*”Life Savers In Traffic”*
In Accra, traffic doesn’t stop time — it moves. On heads, on trays, in buckets balanced with grace.
We call them hawkers. I call them life savers.
When hunger hits in go-slow, when water runs out, when the day feels wasted between Circle and Kaneshie . Accra and madina— they appear. Sobolo, kelewele, groundnuts, fan yogi, drinks , meat pie, yam, bags, plantain chips etc.
Society looks past them. I look at them.
This work archives their hustle as art. They don’t just sell in traffic. They save us in traffic. (How do you see them?)
