for me, as an OCD person, it's def "truman show" (surveillance / "everyone i know is lying to me" horror) and "threads" (worst case scenario but also terrifyingly possible nuclear apocalypse horror)

Growing up it was "Creature From The Black Lagoon", as a teen it was "An American Werewolf In London", and as an adult I love "Trick 'r Treat". As a teen I did scare the heck out of myself watching "Alien" by myself in the dark while my family was off visiting relatives. A car drove by and caused a shadow to go across the room just as the alien attacked a crew member! My wife and I always have to watch "Young Frankenstein" every Halloween season. Not scary, but has become a tradition.
