Kyoto’s tallest pagoda only looks like this 44 nights a year 🍁

جشن هالووین که امروزه توی اروپا و حتی کشورهای دیگه، مثل کشور ما ایران رایج شده، ریشه در باورهای سِلت‌ها که ساکنان قدیمی اروپای مرکزی بودند داره؛ اون‌ها باور داشتن که در این روز مردگان به دنیای زندگان می‌آن. توی جشن هالووین، مردم با لباس‌های خاص و نقاب شرکت می‌کنند. جالبه بدونید که توی آئین‌های کهن ایرانی هم، در غروب ۱۱آبان، جشنی برگزار می‌شده به نام لال شَو که متاسفانه به دست فراموشی سپرده شده اما هنوز در برخی مناطق کشورمون برگزار می‌شه. توی مراسم لال شَو ، مردی با لباسی پوشیده از کاه و برگ درخت و نقاب پارچه‌ای که به چهره‌ش بسته شده با ترکه‌هایی چوبی به در خانه‌ها می‌ره و مردم با مشعل‌ آتش و هدایایی از میوه‌ها و محصولات کشاورزی اون سال به استقبالش می‌رن و لال هم برای بیشتر شدن محصول سال آینده ترکه‌ای چوبی به اونا میده. در آخر هم لال، هدایا رو با بچه‌هایی که همراهش هستن، تقسیم می‌کنه. حالا بنظر شما کدوم جشن جالب‌تره؟ #هالووین #ایران #لال_شو #جشن #باستانی

icymi, this phrase is being talked about because of book hauls—that people keep buying books for the sake of being seen as ‘intellectuals’. it’s like “performative reading” all over again… here’s my take because i’m chronically online and i love talking about things i care about… Uhm… SO?!? as someone who has been reading for a long, long time and who recently reignited my love for writing, i’ve seen this community grow to what it is now and dare i say, keep it coming. there was a time when reading a book in public, and posting it online for the world to see was not “cool”. we were the “outcasts”. we were not even part of the “influencer world” because who would buy a BOOK just because we posted it?! NOW HERE WE ARE. in the year 2026, where people, finally, think “reading is cool”. and you know what, consume that sht. keep buying books! i would still want to believe that when people buy a book, there is that 50% chance that they will enjoy it and they will fall in love with the written word. the publishing industry thrives and you get to read, that’s a win-win situation. we’re so used to being spoon-fed with brainrot content that when we see people read, suddenly it’s a “disguise”. no. change your algorithm. follow more people who read, write, and think. then maybe, you’ll end up with a shelf full of books to read. that, my friend, is not just consumerism. it’s an investment. #bookstagram #reading #writing
