Gang Starr’s music has travelled through successive eras of skateboarding, remaining faithful to its own language while helping define the character of each one.

Guru’s voice over Premier beats carries a timeless quality: a sound that belongs as naturally to a video part today as it did thirty years ago, untouched by changing styles.

Watching someone skate to Gang Starr adds another dimension to something already special, choosing one of their tracks has always carried a certain meaning, a statement of style that continues to resonate across the years.

Their catalogue belongs to the shared heritage of hip-hop, and its reach extends far beyond it. For everything their music has given skateboarding and the world, we remain grateful to DJ Premier and to the memory of Guru.
