A new, limited-edition pocket dictionary with 26 alternative definitions for words & phrases, drawn directly from conversations inside 8 youth clubs across the UK. Created to amplify the @jdsports x @bbccin partnership, which is driving essential funding into existing youth clubs across the country & facilitating career development opportunities for young people, with content provided by @oxunipress.

More than 1,200 youth clubs have closed since 2010. With each club closed, a vital line of communication between young people & the trusted youth workers who understand them is lost. Help protect the places that speak the language of young people.

Sourcing definitions from conversations inside 8 clubs beats adults guessing at slang from the outside. Pocket size also means a youth worker can actually use it mid-chat.

Drawing the definitions from conversations in the clubs is what gives this weight. The dictionary makes listening visible, rather than just borrowing young people's slang.

This conversation, it is not about our future and there is no planet without them. We have to protect them. Care leaver/Ex teacher/ex youth worker speaking up too. Proud of this campaign.
