11 days agoBeautiful photos, videos and words!! And I know the Kpop Demon songs all too well! 😂
11 days ago🌻 CAPTION CONT’D 2/2:🌻 The tree was taken down, and I was upset. However, two other plants began to emerge… what do you think they were? I’ll let you guess. And no, I didn’t plant them there. Two big sunflower plants just started to grow, and now more bees and butterflies come to visit our yard than I have ever seen here previously. Sunflowers really do seem to perfectly encapsulate the balance between life/death, summer/winter, awake/askeep, warm/cold, light/dark. Thank-you, Sunflowers. ☀️ Keep turning toward the light ☀️ 🌻🌻🌻
11 days ago🌻CAPTION CONT’D 1/2:🌻 Five years ago, I picked a yellow shirt for my theatre headshot. “That was a mistake,” I thought. “WHEN do I EVER wear yellow?!” I often think my “mistakes” in life are just that: errors due to adhd, a lack of planning, or just bad decisions. But when I picked that yellow shirt, maybe I had sunflowers in mind. Around this time I had a dream or vision that I can’t really recall super well, aside from the fact I knew that I was a well-known artist, with fans and everything, and that my fans were called “The Sunflower People.” It may seem silly, but there really was a lot of beauty in the emotions I felt at this vision, as well as the vibrant colours of the sunset, and the Utopian world we all lived in in this reality. It was Utopian because it was a world where people could blossom freely to be who they were, and stand tall with all their authenticity and truth, with their faces turned proudly toward the light. Their own light, and one anothers’. We didn’t shy away from the vibrancy of the colours of the world. Everyone was celebrated as they were, and not everyone was a sunflower, but we were all Sunflower People. This summer, the giant elm tree in our back yard had to be taken down (by certified arborists) because its roots were pulling up the neighbour’s fence. This elm tree provided most of the shade in the back yard. I would often go to the base of this tree and have quiet reflections there, as well as moments of gratitude thanking it for providing shade and a home to the birds (that my cats would try to murder if they ever escaped… so I guess the cats thanked the tree too). I was distraught at the fact that the tree had to come down and we were to be left with a shade-less, tree-less back yard. I also felt guilty and upset that a perfectly healthy tree was going to be taken down.
