ASO SKY QUEENS: FAVOUR ANARI — NO FLUKE, JUST FORM.
Favour Anari’s numbers with ASO Sky Queens may have caught attention, but they did not come out of nowhere.
Just weeks ago l, before the Zenith Bank Women’s Premier Basketball League, Anari was making her mark on the continental stage with Nigeria’s U18 Junior D’Tigress at the 2026 FIBA U18 Women’s AfroBasket.
She finished the tournament as Nigeria’s leading scorer, averaging 14.5 PPG, while also recording 5.0 APG, 5.2 SPG and 5.2 RPG. Her 14.8 efficiency rating ranked highest among Nigerian players.
Her impact was evident from the opening game. Against Tunisia, Anari produced 14 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals, with FIBA highlighting her influence on both ends of the floor.
She continued to deliver as the tournament progressed, including 16 points and 8 assists against Cameroon in the quarter-final, before posting 15 points and 4 assists in Nigeria’s semi final victory over Côte d’Ivoire.
And when Nigeria reached the championship game against Mali, Anari finished with 23 points and 10 rebounds, according to tournament reporting.
She was subsequently named to the 2026 FIBA U18 Women’s AfroBasket All-Star Team.
Now, with ASO Sky Queens, Anari has continued that production, leading the team in scoring (14.0 PPG), assists (4.67 APG) and steals (4.0 SPG) during the group stage.
The numbers tell a consistent story.
The ASO Sky Queens performance isn't a fluke. It's another chapter in a run of performances that Anari has already been putting together at the international youth level.
From the Junior D’Tigress to the domestic league, Favour Anari is showing that she belongs in the conversation.
