Incredible food, creative cocktails, and a dimly lit back bar make La Jefa one of our new favorite date night spots in Philly. It’s located right in center city but hidden away on a small street.

Highly recommend making a reservation for La Jefa Milpa — this is the dimly lit back room that feels perfect for date night.

The front room is La Jefa Cafe which is also amazing for a more casual night or brunch!

Carne en Su Jugo — short rib in an excellent sauce, comes with tortillas to make your own tacos

Quesadilla de Calabaza — this is a zucchini and ricotta quesadilla and it was one of the best quesadillas I’ve had!

The cocktail menu is so unique. They have a great mezcal selection and cocktails with so many ingredients that I’ve never heard of 😅

This was our second round so we went with a couple of cocktails from the classics menu - a whiskey improved and a white negroni.
