Across paper, fabric, metal, wood, and handcrafted photographic printing, in ‘Four Steps and a Looking Glass’, Francisca Aninat assembles, stitches, embosses, embroiders, writes, stains, and sculpts to create a series of small objects thoughtfully dispersed across the space.
Inside @92websterroad’s cube, the resemblance of a doorway, window views, and a ladder whose shape fails to complete are some of the elements in a space that insists on images half formed. Something in them addresses a pre-verbal state in which ideas and matter are in formation.
