Both girls raced and won this morning at the Marco Island invite!! 🏆 🏆 The dew point was 78 and Joanie pulled into the lead but was feeling terrible/nauseous. Anytime humidity is sky high she doesn’t quite make it to the finish line 🤢 With 400m to go she started to pick it up. 150m to go she fell to the ground throwing up - over and over it and she says mostly through her nose … I’m yelling at her to get up because 2nd place is coming. She looks back to see her 5m away , bolts to her feet and sprints to the finish (21:23 to 21:32 for runner up) - 3 wins in a row for the regular season !!! 💪🏼☘️

Paula had a really good day. She was not happy warming up so I told her be slow at the start and just pass people! 400m in she started to close in on the 2 leaders. She passed them and didn’t look back. She was 1 sec off her PR for her 2nd win of the season! 11:53.77 (Joanie ran 11:52.47 last year and she ran 13:34)! They were 14:06 and 14:24 in 2024. It’s so fun to see them keep improving !!! 😁
