Actor and comedian #ReggieMcFadden, best known for “Def Comedy Jam” and “In Living Color,” has died at 57. His sister, author Bernice McFadden, told The Hollywood Reporter that the U.S. State Department notified the family that he died in Tanzania, where he had been living for roughly 18 years. The family said they do not yet know the exact date or cause of death.
McFadden, who grew up in Brooklyn, got his major break on HBO’s “Def Comedy Jam” in the early 1990s before landing roles on shows including “Martin,” “Hangin’ With Mr.
Cooper,” “Moesha” and “Coach.” He later joined In Living Color as a performer and writer during the show’s final season, appearing in sketches including “Wheel of Dozens” and the “Dirty Dozens Tournament of Champions.”
He also appeared on “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and continued working in comedy and entertainment after relocating to Tanzania. McFadden is survived by his mother, siblings and two sons.
