This week’s Question of the Week touches on 2 experiences so many here know: the frustration of a thin lining and the emotional process of deciding when it may be time to consider a different path to parenthood.

Have you struggled with thin lining or had cycles canceled because of it? What has helped? And/Or have you reached a point where you decided to explore a gestational carrier/surrogacy after repeated challenges?

Thanks, always, for sharing great advice, stories and for your support 🧡

My lining did not thicken despite numerous attempts with medication. I had one very good class A embryo and we decided to do the FET with prayer , hope and embryo glue. 9 years later we have the most amazing 9 year old daughter 👧

I’m now a mom by surrogacy and I’m happy to chat with OP about the pivot and where to start. ❤️ A couple of other great resources started by parents through surrogacy are @surrogacyreimagined and @thebiggestask , and there are several others!

It takes immense strength to recognize when it might be time to pivot to protect your peace. Thin lining are incredibly stubborn, and it is completely valid to look into surrogacy after everything your body has been through. Sending the biggest hug to this warrior as they navigate these big step

Have you tried a modified natural cycle? My lining responded better to this than medicated. Wishing you the best with the next steps

Speaking from experience as a parent through surrogacy, it is very daunting to think about a stranger having your baby. It will be amazing to find her and realize she’s not a stranger - she’s your newest team member :) it is very important to first recognize the grief inherent in making this pivot. Honor and nurture it - and still move forward. Because in making the pivot, you are closer to the moment you’ve prayed and waited for and like Andrea said that is a sense of relief. The second is to commit to a mutually respectful relationship with advocacy and connection at the center. Please feel free to contact me and Matt for any direct guidance.

We are in the process of doing surrogacy due to a similar issue - fibroids, miscarriages and various surgeries left me with uterine scarring that wouldn’t make it safe to carry a healthy baby to full term. Happy to chat - feel free to DM me.

Sildenafil and a tailored immunology protocol were the keys for me 🫶🏽

I would definitely consult with your doctor, but a gestational carrier might be the answer for those precious embryos. You want to give them the best chance possible.

I had to use a GC because endometriosis made my lining too thin, happy to talk all things about the process! Feel free to DM me

With Endo and fibroids I eventually learned I had a uterine issue. In year 5, I to explore surrogacy after repeated losses and IVF embryo transfer failures…it wasn’t easy but grateful I met my daughter finally. So sorry as I know how stressful and exhausting this can be!
