Veterans Have a Stake in State and Local Elections
The decisions closest to home shape housing, employment, transportation, and family stability.
Arizona begins early voting today for the November 3 general election. For veterans, the ballot deserves attention beyond congressional races. State legislators, county supervisors, city officials, and school board members make decisions that affect our households and communities.
As a Marine veteran, I understand the frustration of hearing candidates praise military service without explaining what they intend to do. Recognition has a place. Veterans also deserve answers about the decisions an office controls and the results a candidate intends to deliver.
Voting in state and local elections helps determine who accepts those responsibilities.
