This one is hard. But it matters.
.
Meet Tinuke Awe and Clotilde Abe, co-founders of Five X More… created to improve Black maternal health and ensure Black women have the information, support and confidence to advocate for themselves.
.
Did you know Black women in the UK are currently 3 times more likely to die during pregnancy or shortly after than white women?
.
Historically, the figure was around five times higher. The gap has narrowed, but it hasn’t closed.
.
Five X More is doing vital work: raising awareness, amplifying Black women’s voices, supporting families and pushing for change.
.
Because knowledge is power.
.
And in maternity care, being informed, heard and taken seriously can be life-changing.
.
Tinuke and Clo… thank you for turning lived experience into action. 🖤
