Four years of Stripes. A whole lot to celebrate. Naomi founded Stripes because navigating menopause felt far lonelier and more confusing than it should. We deserved more answers, better care, and a conversation we could actually see ourselves in. This Menopause Awareness Month, we’re celebrating our fourth birthday and the community that’s helped shape Stripes. Every story, every question, every “wait, me too.” Thank you for being part of this and for making room for conversations so many of us needed sooner.
@honor.kz #HONORX9ePro
“Haram qumështi i nënës, a s’keni turp, polici?
The term “cartel” now does the same job “t-rr-rist” did after 9/11. Once someone has that label, they can be b-mbed, k-dnapped, or jailed without proof, and the t-rget can be anyone: a fisherman, a farmer, a migrant, or a head of state. But are dr-g cartels as we imagine them even real? ￭ In 2022, Mexican scholar and former journalist Oswaldo Zavala published a book titled "Dr-g Cartels Do Not Exist." His argument is that the dr-g trade is real, but the “cartel” as we imagine it is largely an invention of governments. The term “cartel” itself was coined by US officials and the DEA in the 1980s, then adopted by Mexican media. ￭ The mythical, sensationalized idea of the "cartel" as a monolithic cr-minal empire powerful enough to rival the state in reality serves to obscure the US's direct role in global dr-g tr-fficking. #VPol
COVER REVEAL FOR YOUR BETTER HALF!!!! 🏃‍♀️💖 Many of you know this book has had a long journey to shelves, so this moment is extra special (more on my newsletter telling the whole story of the winding road to publication!). YBH is out everywhere August 3, but a preorder would be a huge source of support for a story really close to my heart! YBH is the story of a teen matchmaker who resurrects a failing fundraiser by promising to find the school mystery man’s perfect match—only to fall for him herself. It has: 💖 single-POV, slow-burn yearning 💖 a Bachelor-inspired matchmaking fundraiser 💖 a million little references to Jane Austen’s Emma 💖 secrets under cover of darkness, only-one-pullout-couch, & a whole lotta forced proximity 💖 another supportive (if chaotic) friend group 💖 homages to the Darcy hand flex, Mr. Knightly, Tessa & Scott, soapgate, & more 💖 scenes that are about running but also not about running (@coachbennett) This is a book for fans of Clueless and other classic 90s romcom retellings, for everyone who finds peace on a long run (or thinks they sound like more trouble than they’re worth), and for anyone who’s gone through a change that shook their sense of self—and then found the resilience to carry themselves forward. @emmagilletteart worked absolute magic with Avery and Wes!! and @karynslee, please never stop designing my books. I didn’t even have to ask for the sensor on her arm 😭🫶 And thank you as always to @nicolefioricaedits, @simonteen, and @carynwiseman for shepherding this book into the world, to all the friends who have played a part in its journey so far—and all the readers who are about to join Avery and Wes on the next leg of their run. 🏃‍♂️✨ I’m so grateful to be writing books for you all—thank you for being here!! 🤍🤍🤍
