Today October 8, marks the 5-year milestone in Metroid Dread's history!🤩

It struck like a bolt out of the blue on June 15, 2021, during the E3 2021 Nintendo Direct, surprising all of us since it had long been completely off everyone's announcement radar!🔥

📁 It had only ever been vaguely hinted at through a particular incoming log found in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, which read: 📂

Panel 1: "Experiment status report update. Metroid project 'Dread' is nearing the final stages of completion."

But a 2nd panel read:

"Experiment results unsuccessful. All attempts at using Metroids as a weapon power source have failed."

I’m pretty sure that second panel was added to prevent this from being seen as an Easter egg foreshadowing the announcement of a new game! 😆

I think this is one of the coolest things ever in Metroid history! Even though it took 20 years to go from Fusion to Dread, and 14 years from Prime 3 to Dread — that's a seriously long time!
