🤯 I’m on the road. I think this is Day 11 of the tour? I’m behind on most of my tour posts. It is such an extraordinary privilege to meet readers at each stop and talk with friends about the work. Then this incredible news. 😭

This is the first time any of my books has debuted on The New York Times bestseller list in hardcover. Pachinko came out in February 2017 and hit the NYT list in December only when published in paperback, which felt like a publishing miracle. My first novel Free Food for Millionaires was published in 2007 and never hit the NYT lists but it is still read today. All of this. I’m thankful for all of it.

I am profoundly grateful to my readers; publishing family; booksellers; literary critics; journalists and editors of numerous newspapers, magazines and media organizations; fellow writers; and librarians. All this happened because of your gracious support. Thank you so much for holding up books.
