At 2050 coffee, the tap is a system for serving coffee. Its real job is telling the stories behind each cup.
The tap is the fast part: the same cup, every time, in seconds. What we care about is what's behind each screen, and why it's there.
India · Ashok Patre, Chikmagalur (Discovery)
India has grown coffee for 350 years, but it's still new on the specialty map. This lot is fermented with cultures from the coffee's own fermentation, watched closely in the farm's lab. We pour it as a bet on where coffee can go next.
Indonesia · Fikri Raihan Hakim, West Java (Select)
Most Indonesian coffee leaves the country as a mix of varieties. This is a single lot of Ateng Super, a local variety, finished as a washed coffee so the place comes through clearly: floral, pear, green tea.
Colombia · via Fairfield Trading (Standard)
Our everyday cup. Fairfield Trading works only with washed coffees, and with their importer they run a yearly festival where the best lots earn premiums paid directly to the farmers. Even the simplest cup on our menu rewards quality at origin.
Standard, Select, Discovery. Three ways in, each one tied to a person, a place and a reason. That's the system we're building, one city at a time.
