Yesterday was a sad day for Burton upon Trent.
As a proud Burtonian, I will do all I can to safeguard jobs and our brewing heritage.

They have closed the Jennings, Hobgoblin, Leeds, Banks and Ringwood breweries and moved their brewing to Burton on Trent so it must be busy. If they always planned to close Burton on Trent Brewery why did they do that. Where will brewing move to next (and how long with that brewery last)?

Successive govts have overseen the sale of so many of our businesses and London has been sold and Manchester is under offer. It's a British thing, the desire to sell regardless of the cost to others. In Italy they pass businesses to their children. Its linked to the Empire, Class system and crap weather. The people of Burton should take their knowledge and start again and have it written that the business cannot be sold.
