BREAKING 🚨: Peter Jackson Officially Joins The Hunt for Gollum Writing Team
@deadline has revealed that Peter Jackson is also now a writer on The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum, adding another role to his involvement in the upcoming film.
Jackson, who directed the original The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies, was previously attached as a producer alongside longtime creative partners Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens.
The film is directed by Andy Serkis, who returns as Gollum. Its story takes place between The Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Ring, following the hunt for Gollum before he can reveal the One Ring’s location to Sauron.
With Jackson now reportedly joining the writing team, another key creative force behind the original films is helping shape this new chapter of Middle-earth.
Could this mean an even stronger connection to the storytelling that made the original trilogy so beloved?
The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum is scheduled to arrive in theaters on December 17, 2027.

Not surprised. Andy has mad respect for Tolkien’s original works and Peter will bring it home with some authentic production value.

And we are all anticipating where he will pop up in the film. Has everyone caught all of the others in each film? I have. 😆
