Cub Creek Foundation’s Visiting Artist, Chris Pate, has made an incredible impact on our facilities, kilns, and resident artists. We are thrilled to have Pate here to be a lead for this year’s Noborigama firing.

Pate grew up in Central Louisiana and has been working in clay for 17 years. While living in the Pacific Northwest he was introduced to woodfiring his work in 2012. Since, he has built several kilns, participated in a handful of residencies, taught many workshops, and worked with numerous communities to fire dozens of different wood fired kilns around the nation. He’s passionate about education, community collaboration, facilitating creativity, alchemy through interaction, and movement as medicine.

Please view Pate’s Instagram and follow his journey @pate2earth

Thank you Pate!

It was Such a pleasure to work with Chris years ago at Mount Hood community college. A great energy, innovative, and just playing fun to be around.
