Hi Colouristas πŸŽ‰

Let me introduce you to one of my favourite subjects: WEARAPY.

Yes, really β€” the idea that what you wear can genuinely change how you feel. And it isn't fluffy, and it isn't vanity. It's science! ✨

- 🧬 The science: researchers Hajo Adam and Adam Galinsky coined the term "enclothed cognition" (2012). In their famous study, people wearing a white coat they believed was a DOCTOR'S coat showed significantly better sustained attention β€” but when told the same coat belonged to a PAINTER, the effect disappeared. The lesson? Clothes don't just cover you; the MEANING you attach to them changes how you think. 😏

- πŸ‘” Another finding: wearing more formal clothing has been linked to more abstract, big-picture thinking and a stronger sense of power and confidence. Dress the part, and your brain follows.

- 🌈 Dopamine dressing: colour is one of the fastest mood-shifters we have. Wearing bright, joyful β€” or simply YOUR best β€” colours gives a little hit of pleasure and lifts both your mood and how others perceive you. That's why I always say: wear YOUR colours, not just any colours.

- πŸ” The confidence loop: dress well β†’ stand taller β†’ speak up β†’ feel more confident β†’ dress well again. It's a cycle, and you can step into it at any point. Even on the hardest day, the outfit is the easiest door in.

So how do you practise Wearapy?

1. Dress for the mood you WANT, not the mood you have.
2. Wear your best colours β€” the ones that make you glow.
3. Keep a "power piece" for the days you need backup.
4. Get dressed even at home. You deserve it β€” and your brain notices.

Wearapy isn't about dressing for other people. It's a daily act of self-care, and it works from the outside in. ✨
