Hi Colouristas πŸŽ‰

Thinking of a gift that actually means something? Look no further β€” I'm sending two of my gift vouchers out today to clients who want to gift an experience to their friends!!!

A Colour Analysis or Personal Styling session is so much more than a 'thing' in a box. Don't get me wrong, I luuuurve presents too, but an experience is lasting! ✨

- 🧬 Science fact: An experience makes people happier for longer than a material object. Studies show the joy of an experience keeps rising every time you relive or share it β€” and that's exactly what discovering your true colours does. It's a gift that keeps giving, every time they look in the mirror.

- 🎁 The insight: A colour analysis or styling session isn't just a treat β€” it's a confidence upgrade they'll wear every single day. They learn the colours that light them up, how to dress their body, and how to shop smarter. That's a gift that outlasts any jumper or scent.

- ✨ The tip: Ready to gift it? Send me an email and the service you want to gift them and I'll post a beautiful Mr Colour voucher box β€” wrapped in my signature style πŸŽ‰

Whether it's for a birthday, anniversary, or just-because, the message on the front says it best: you are bloomin' fabulous! Bloomin eck' you ARE!

Give a moment, not a thing. Let's gift a little confidence this season. ✨

To book your 1-to-1 Colour Analysis or Personal Styling Session, email me at: peterthepersonalstylist@gmail.com

Hi Colouristas πŸŽ‰ Big news β€” something I've designed and created just for you! ✨

I've restocked my COLOUR ANALYSIS SCARVES πŸŽ‰

Introducing the MrColour Colour Analysis Neckscarves.

Four beautiful, hand-picked colourways β€” one perfect match for every single season. Whether you're a Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter, there's a scarf that's exactly YOUR colours.

Made in Portugal. Β£27 each. Because your best colour should sit right where it matters most β€” by your FACE. Autumn is on its way, so this is the BEST time to wear a neck scarf!

- 🧬 Science fact: The colour closest to your face has the biggest impact on how your skin looks. That's why a scarf in your own season's palette instantly brightens you, lifts tiredness, and frames you at your most radiant β€” while a colour that's not yours can dull and wash you out.

- 🎨 The insight: You only need ONE season β€” and it comes with its own perfect colourway. Spring's bright and clear, Summer's soft and pastel, Autumn's warm and earthy, Winter's deep and jewel-toned. I've designed one for each, so finding yours is effortless. If you know your season already...

- ✨ The tip: Wear it tied at the neck, knotted in your hair, or as a pocket square β€” near your face is the secret. It's the simplest, most affordable way to wear your season every single day.

Order yours at just £27. Designed by me, made in Portugal, made for you. 🧣

Hi Colouristas πŸŽ‰

β€œColour is a power which directly influences the soul.” β€” Wassily Kandinsky

This man didn’t just paint with colour, he felt it as sound, emotion and energy. Sound familiar? That’s exactly what I do in colour analysis. When a client wears their best they feel their best πŸ’

Why Kandinsky was obsessed with colour:

1. He had synaesthesia. Kandinsky literally heard colours and saw sounds. Yellow sounded like a trumpet to him, blue like a cello. He painted what colour felt like, not just what it looked like.

2. He wrote the book on it. In 1911 he published β€˜Concerning the Spiritual in Art’ β€” the first theory that every colour has a direct psychological effect on the soul. Yellow = warm & agitated. Blue = deep & spiritual. Red = alive & confident. He was doing colour psychology before it was a thing. So when I harp on about colour and feeling, it's not just me!

3. He believed colour could heal. He thought the right colour in the right place could change your mood, your spirit, even your health. Which is exactly what happens when you finally wear your right colours β€” you light up from within.

Kandinsky proved what I see every day in the studio: colour isn’t superficial. It’s soul-deep.

Which colour influences YOUR soul the most? πŸ‘‡ Tell me in the comments β€” I bet it’s in your palette.

Hi Colouristas! πŸŽ‰

Patsy Stone may have looked like a deer caught in the headlights on national TV, but she was absolutely right:

β€œYou can never have enough hats, gloves and shoes!”

The devil really is in the small details.

A fabulous brooch.
A beautiful belt.
A brilliant brogue.
A glossy boot.
A gorgeous bag.
A statement hat.
A pair of gloves that makes an entrance.

Accessories can completely transform an outfit. They add personality, polish, drama and that unmistakable feeling of β€œthis is so me.”

You don’t need a whole new wardrobe. Sometimes you just need one fabulous finishing touch!

Which accessory can you never have enough of?

Hi Colouristas πŸŽ‰

Let's talk about something we don't say out loud enough: for some people, looking in the mirror is genuinely stressful. And if that's you β€” this post is a gentle hug, not a lecture. πŸ’›

If you've ever been judged, teased or bullied about how you look, that leaves a mark.... The mirror stops being a mirror and becomes a critic. And I know some of you will do almost anything to avoid having your photo taken. You are not vain, and you are not broken β€” you're protecting a wound. πŸ’›

Here's the truth I want you to hold onto: the mirror shows you a MOMENT, not the whole of you. And if your eyes always land on the thing you were once criticised for, that isn't honesty β€” that's an old wound talking. We can change the lens. πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’

Some gentle tips for the next time you catch your reflection:

- πŸͺž Speak to yourself like you'd speak to your best friend. You'd never say those harsh things to someone you love. So don't say them to you. Out loud, if it helps: "I'm doing okay. I'm kind. I'm here."

- πŸ’› Find three things you LIKE before you find one thing you don't. Your smile. Your eyes. Your hands that do so much. Train your eye to see what's good β€” it's a muscle.

- πŸ” Do mirror CHECKS, not mirror AUDITS. A check takes ten seconds: hair, teeth, done. An audit is twenty minutes of hunting for flaws. You don't owe the mirror an audit. Why audit yourself? Celebrate yourself.

- πŸ’‘ Soften the lighting and step back if it feels easier. Harsh overhead light flatters nobody. You're not seeing the truth β€” you're seeing bad lighting. (as a gay man I HATE overhead lighting 🀣) mannny lamps.

- πŸ“Έ And if you hate having your photo taken: a photo is a MEMORY, not a verdict. One day those pictures will be precious to the people who love you. Take the photo. Be in the photo. You belong in the picture. You belong to THA MOMENT.

Be kinder to yourself. You have been through things. You are doing better than you think. πŸ’›

Hi Colouristas πŸŽ‰

β€œColour is my day-long obsession, joy and torment.” β€” Claude Monet 🎨

You mean Monet felt it too?!

The man who gave us Water Lilies was OBSESSED with colour β€” and for good reason:

3 facts about Monet & colour:

He grew his palette! He literally designed his garden in Giverny to be his living paint box β€” planting flowers specifically for their colour harmonies so he could paint them.

He painted the same thing 250+ times. His Water Lilies series isn’t repetition, it’s colour study. Same pond, different light, different hour, completely different colours.

His cataracts changed his colours.

Later in life, cataracts made him see everything more yellow/red. He had surgery and suddenly could see blues and purples again β€” and his work completely transformed. Proof that how we see colour changes everything.

Monet understood what we know in colour analysis β€” colour isn’t just decoration, it’s emotion, energy and light.πŸ’

Is colour your day-long obsession too? Tell me your favourite colour to wear πŸ‘‡

Hi Colouristas πŸŽ‰

Let's talk about the colours I live for in my studio:

Your WOW COLOURS. Not just "nice" colours β€” the ones that make people stop and ask what you've done differently. Every one of you has them, and they're far more personal than you might think! ✨

How do you find your WOWs? Your absolute best ones are usually thee:

- πŸ‘οΈ One near your natural eye colour intensity
- πŸ’‹ One that matches your ideal lip blush depth
- 🀍 One that is your best neutral β€” the one you can wear head to toe! That doesn't mean 'JUST' BEIGE!

And what actually makes a WOW a WOW? Let me spell it out:

W β€” What lifts
O β€” Obliterates shadows
W β€” Works in harmony

Or, more technically:

- W = Whiteness of the eye brightens β€” the sclera looks whiter and your eyes look CLEARER.
- O = Outlines sharpen β€” jawline and cheekbones look more defined, skin looks more even without MAKEUP.
- W = Whole face in balance β€” you see the PERSON first, not the drape. The colour doesn't wear you.

Now, some signposts (but never rules):

- ❄️ For most WINTERS: a true fuchsia, an emerald, or a cobalt.
- πŸ‚ For AUTUMNS: a teal, a burnt orange, or a deep olive.
- πŸ•ŠοΈ For most SUMMERS: a soft rose, a powder blue, or a cool raspberry.
- 🌸 For most SPRINGS: a coral, a warm turquoise, or a golden apricot.

But here's the beautiful part: it's always personal. It's why two Summers can have totally different WOWs β€” same season, different eyes, different blush, different best neutral.

THE QUICK TEST I give every client after their analysis: hold the drape up, look in the mirror and ask β€” "Do I see the colour first, or do I see ME first?" If you see YOU first, and you look healthier β€” that's the Wow! ✨

Hi Colouristas πŸŽ‰

Let me introduce you to one of my favourite subjects: WEARAPY.

Yes, really β€” the idea that what you wear can genuinely change how you feel. And it isn't fluffy, and it isn't vanity. It's science! ✨

- 🧬 The science: researchers Hajo Adam and Adam Galinsky coined the term "enclothed cognition" (2012). In their famous study, people wearing a white coat they believed was a DOCTOR'S coat showed significantly better sustained attention β€” but when told the same coat belonged to a PAINTER, the effect disappeared. The lesson? Clothes don't just cover you; the MEANING you attach to them changes how you think. 😏

- πŸ‘” Another finding: wearing more formal clothing has been linked to more abstract, big-picture thinking and a stronger sense of power and confidence. Dress the part, and your brain follows.

- 🌈 Dopamine dressing: colour is one of the fastest mood-shifters we have. Wearing bright, joyful β€” or simply YOUR best β€” colours gives a little hit of pleasure and lifts both your mood and how others perceive you. That's why I always say: wear YOUR colours, not just any colours.

- πŸ” The confidence loop: dress well β†’ stand taller β†’ speak up β†’ feel more confident β†’ dress well again. It's a cycle, and you can step into it at any point. Even on the hardest day, the outfit is the easiest door in.

So how do you practise Wearapy?

1. Dress for the mood you WANT, not the mood you have.
2. Wear your best colours β€” the ones that make you glow.
3. Keep a "power piece" for the days you need backup.
4. Get dressed even at home. You deserve it β€” and your brain notices.

Wearapy isn't about dressing for other people. It's a daily act of self-care, and it works from the outside in. ✨

Hi Colouristas πŸŽ‰

The INVISIBILITY ICK. Let's talk about it. πŸ‘‡

You reach a certain age and suddenly you feel...

Deflated. Invisible. Unnecessary. An internal shift that makes you feel inferior to everyone and everything else...

I've seen it in my 'Colour chair' so many times.

Brilliant women (and men) , brilliant humans, shrinking themselves to take up less space. Waiting to be seen....

STOP THAT THOUGHT. πŸ›‘

I'm going to say this with love and with fire πŸ”₯ :

Our validation should NEVER come from anyone else anyway!

It should come from INSIDE THE HOUSE......

I'm a big believer in self actualization through CLOTHING.

Dress the part and BE the part. Not for everyone. For YOURSELF.

Show up for yourself, daily. Even if it's just lipstick + your best colour scarf for the school run. Even if it's just the earrings that make you feel YOU for WFH.

You put on YOUR colours, YOUR shape, YOUR edit - you stand taller. You speak clearer. You don't wait to be seen, you ARRIVE.

Only until then, you will never worry about being 'invisible'...

Because the VISIBLE starts with In. I like that!!!

In = starting point. Inside. Inherent. Included. In power. Always present. Always within.

VISIBLE-IN

You were never invisible. You were just looking outside for something that was inside all along. As I always say, Dorothy always had the red ruby magical slippers that could take her home.

Their opinion isn't your rule. Wear it anyway!

Mic Drop. πŸŽ€β¬‡οΈ

Which slide hit you hardest? Let me know in the comments!

Hi Colouristas πŸŽ‰

I ADORED Valentino Garavani SS27 Antibiblioteca πŸ“šβœ¨

October 4, 2026 - BibliotheΜ€que Sainte-GenevieΜ€ve, Paris. Alessandro Michele's clearest Valentino yet.

Why 'ANTIBIBLIOTECA?'

From Nassim Nicholas Taleb's concept of the Antilibrary in The Black Swan, inspired by Umberto Eco's library of 30,000 books.....

Taleb argued unread books are MORE valuable than read ones. They represent what we don't know yet, all the possibilities still waiting..... interesting!

Guests were asked to bring a book from their own shelf to donate to Paris public libraries. Michele referenced philosopher Giorgio Agamben's potentiality - the power of what 'could be' before it becomes real.

Fashion as possibility. A runway look can be an image, a memory, an idea, even if you never wear it. Like an unread book.

Set between green lamps, iron railings and wooden reading tables, with strobe lights and Troye Sivan's 'Party' on loop.

I particularly love the colour clashes and the 1980's vibe.

I think we all have own books/clothes that we may have not worn 'yet' but the potential is there!

Did you have a favourite collection? Let me know in the comments...
