It is said that the greatest thing that one can do when in a new place is to share your culture and to learn the culture of the new people around you.
Last week before I left NYC I taught my favorite choir, at my favorite church in the city
@firstchurchbrooklyn a song by my home pastor Dr. C. Ronald S. Williams II
“Worship Jesus” is a song that The Voices of Koinonia has been singing for over 40 years. Pastor is one of the most prolific songwriters of his generation with his songs transcending space, and time going to all corners of the earth. Being sung by younger generations of singers and choirs all over this planet. This song has been especially special in my own Christian journey having sung it with my own family & friends (many of us having been members of The Voices, this last 40 years).
To take this piece of home and leave it with my NYC family was just beyond a blessing. It is even more poignant for me as I will return to The Voices of Koinonia this morning for the first time in over 8 years as a choir member. Yesterday when I was in choir rehearsal at Mt. Zion Fellowship “The Tabernacle”, I realized I was exactly where I was supposed to be and that everything done in God’s time is in fact on time.
My heart’s with the FPC Choir and I look forward to returning to NYC later this year to join them in concert.

Amy, Matt and the entire FPC community hold such a space in my heart and in my spirit. I learned so much from them both and from this incredible community. To find a place that was in fact home, away from home is an endless blessing ❤️✝️🏡
