Sometimes, loving someone means facing a truth you don’t want to hear. ❤️
I tried multiple treatment facilities for Jack, hoping each one would finally be the answer. But he would run away, return to the streets, and we would both end up hurting.
Then one day, he told me honestly: “I don’t want you to waste $8,000. I’m not ready.”
That honesty changed something for me.
I couldn’t force readiness. What I could do was keep the door open for honest conversations, continue loving him without judgment, and be there when he was ready to take another step.
Recovery is a journey—and sometimes listening is part of loving someone through it.
