“How did you find me?”

My answer was always the same: **God.** 🙏

There were times when Jack would disappear and no one knew where he was. Yet on three different occasions, I felt a still, small voice guiding me to go find him—and each time, I did.

Eventually, Jack told me, “I’m not running away anymore because you’re just going to find me anyway with God.”

For me, that’s when the words *“My burden is light”* became more than a Bible verse. I felt like I wasn’t carrying the burden alone anymore. ❤️

Sometimes faith doesn’t remove the journey—it changes how we carry it.

Thank you God for your blessings and Thank you to all of our wonderful, beautiful friends for supporting me and ordering my book. May you be blessed always❤️🤗🙏🦋. by @dradenapharmacist

Sometimes the answer isn’t a grand gesture. Sometimes it’s as simple as bringing someone candy. ❤️

When Jack was staying somewhere that wasn’t good for him and didn’t want to come home, I felt the Lord place one simple thing on my heart: “Go bring him some candy.”

No big intervention. No complicated plan. Just one small act of love.

It reminded me that when a burden feels overwhelming, the next step doesn’t always have to be heavy. Sometimes we simply do the small thing placed in front of us—and trust God with the rest. 🙏

“You can cut someone out of your life… but can you cut them out of your heart?” ❤️‍🩹

I ended the relationship believing that stepping away was what I needed to do.

But Jack didn’t disappear from my thoughts. He was still in my heart, still in my mind, and the distance brought its own kind of pain.

That experience taught me something deeply personal: physical distance doesn’t always create emotional distance.

When you truly love someone, walking away doesn’t necessarily mean you stop carrying them with you.

“The Bible became more than a book to me—it became a guide for how to live.” 📖🙏

It isn’t simply about what we can or cannot do. It’s about recognizing when something begins to take control of us and leads us away from wisdom, clarity, and self-control.

For me, that’s how I’ve come to understand the Bible: not as a list of restrictions, but as guidance meant to help us navigate life with intention.

Sometimes, loving someone means facing a truth you don’t want to hear. ❤️

I tried multiple treatment facilities for Jack, hoping each one would finally be the answer. But he would run away, return to the streets, and we would both end up hurting.

Then one day, he told me honestly: “I don’t want you to waste $8,000. I’m not ready.”

That honesty changed something for me.

I couldn’t force readiness. What I could do was keep the door open for honest conversations, continue loving him without judgment, and be there when he was ready to take another step.

Recovery is a journey—and sometimes listening is part of loving someone through it.

For years, I believed that maybe he needed to “hit rock bottom” before things could change.

But watching someone I love struggle changed my perspective. ❤️

Instead of creating more distance, I began approaching him differently—with less judgment, more compassion, and a willingness to keep walking beside him.

His journey taught me that there isn’t always one approach that works for every person or every family.

Sometimes, the person struggling doesn’t need to feel more alone. They need someone willing to listen without judgment and remind them that they’re still loved.

When I opened my eyes, I saw tiny specks of light—almost like glitter floating in front of me. ✨

I reached out, thinking I could catch them, but quickly realized they weren’t something I could hold.

What stayed with me most wasn’t what I saw. It was what I felt: an overwhelming sense of peace. 🙏

Some moments are difficult to explain. You simply experience them—and they stay with you.

Sometimes love looks like something as simple as bringing a shirt and sharing a meal. ❤️

Jack was homeless and living on the streets, but that didn’t change the way I saw him. I’d bring him a shirt and say, “Throw this on. Let’s go eat.”

No judgment. No embarrassment. Just dinner, conversation, laughter, and a reminder that he was still worthy of being included.

And sometimes, those ordinary moments gave him an opportunity to see himself differently.

You never know what a little dignity, connection, and unconditional love can awaken in someone. 🙏

Taking care of yourself matters. ❤️

If you’re exhausted, overwhelmed, and struggling yourself, it becomes much harder to be there for someone else.

But for me, self-care didn’t have to mean completely stepping away from someone I loved.

I knew there were ways I could help while still protecting my own well-being. The challenge was learning how to care for myself without ignoring what my heart was telling me I could still do for someone else.

Sometimes it isn’t about choosing yourself OR your loved one. It’s about finding a healthier way to care for both. 🙏
