Last night they handed him the biggest comedy stage in the country, and he used it to call women whores for what they wear to the gym. Someone wrote that monologue. Someone approved it. Someone at NBC watched rehearsal and said “yep, ship it.”
That’s not edgy. That’s a network deciding misogyny is good for fucking ratings. And it’s disgusting.
Every time a show like SNL gives a man like this a mic, it tells every guy watching that this is just a joke. That women are fair game. That the guy in the corner of the gym staring and filming isn’t a creep, he’s relatable.
We’re done laughing along. Stop booking him. Stop buying tickets. Stop calling it comedy when it’s just contempt with a punchline.

Sooo. Agree. Could we also acknowledge that workout clothes for women need a rehaul? But also women's clothing choices in general - I don't mean the choices we make about what to wear. I mean the limited options available in many cases. Things that are comfortable aren't considered "appropriate" & things considered "appropriate" are seemingly made to be uncomfortable - or expensive and poorly made. AND some things are only considered "appropriate" for limited body types. So, like, his set is awful, but so are clothing manufacturers.

In the past, Waits has shown his admiration for the aforementioned artists with cover versions and readings of their work and, when speaking of his experience with Burroughs, Waits once wrote: “[He] was as solid as a metal desk and his text was the branch this bundle would swing from. His cut-up text and open process of finding a language for this story became a river of words for me to draw from in the lyrics of the songs. He brought wisdom and a voice to the piece that is woven throughout.”
