The salmon shark looks like a mini great white — and there’s a good reason for that. 🦈

These two species are close relatives, sharing the same powerful torpedo-shaped body, dark coloring, and unmistakable shark appearance. Salmon sharks can grow up to around 10 feet long, making them considerably smaller than great whites but still seriously impressive predators.

Their big eyes might give them an almost “chibi” appearance, but don’t let the cute look fool you. Salmon sharks are fast, warm-bodied predators that roam the cold waters of the North Pacific near the top of the food chain.
