Solveig Natvig Løvseth | Ironman Kona 2026
One year after winning the Ironman World Championship on her Kona debut, Solveig returned to the Big Island to defend her title.
And once again, she delivered an incredible performance.
Taking the lead with around eight kilometres remaining, Solveig looked set for a second consecutive world title. But with just over one kilometre to go, her body reached its limit.
Unable to continue running, she eventually made her way across the finish line in eighth place.
A reminder of just how fine the margins are at the highest level of endurance sport. Not the ending she had hoped for, but another performance that showed she belongs among the very best.
And we know there’s plenty more to come.

I still think she’s the best in the world right now. Maybe not that day. Big things to come (more)
