I've been church hunting for over a year and look forward to sharing my overall experience and findings with you all soon.
Until then, let me share a quick experience I had at one gathering which stood out to me. My current work schedule does not permit me to regularly fellowship with them, but their ministry is definitely one of my favorites, and I will keep in contact and follow online until I get a better schedule.
Not to go into too much detail, I had listened to 'verse-by-verse' study from their founder online for a few years, but I didn't know he had an actual ministry. One night, while shuffling my Morning Devotion playlist, a certain ministry popped up that had a lot of his videos. When that hit me, I reached out to the sister to ask if there was a way I could pay online. Instead of getting a payment link, I received an email thanking me for attending and for expressing interest in giving to the ministry. The email continued and said inasmuch as they appreciated the thought, they'd first like to know how I am doing financially before accepting my money. They asked whether my bills were paid, whether my family was well taken care of, and whether I had any major debts excluding car and student loans that I needed to pay.
The email went on to say God loves His children and wants to make sure th
