The dating app market is crashing. The vast majority of their customers are men. The smart men are pulling their money out of these apps. They know that with a poor male to female ratio, the apps aren't worth it. Over 90% of men on dating site will not find a partner. Men realized this on their own or from the manosphere space

“Raul injured his left MCL against Everton, which was four weeks ago now and unfortunately the injury has not responded as we expected, so we've decided that the best thing is to have surgery to repair that ligament. Normally the ligament for a fairly low-grade injury would heal on its own, however this has not responded as we were expecting, after regularly scanning for the last three weeks, the ligament is not healing in the anticipated way. We've consulted with several knee specialists and decided the best course of action is to move to surgery to ensure that we are back in control of the time frames and have a clear idea of when he will be back.

“There is a danger that we can keep waiting for things to improve by treating the knee conservatively (without surgery) but if that doesn't happen, then at that stage we need to have surgery and waste more time. So, he'll have the surgery on Friday in London, and then he'll have around three months of rehabilitation before he's ready to play again. It’s obviously really disappointing for all of us, but we need to look forward, get the surgery done and start the rehab process as soon as we can to get him back on the pitch helping the team as quickly as we can.

“He's obviously really disappointed, as we all are. We all hoped that after the initial scans he would have been back pretty quickly, but unfortunately it's not responding at all. He's disappointed, but he's also happy that we've now got a plan in place with real clarity. We can build around that and make sure that we're getting him back in the time frame.”

G¥nmen Abd¥ct Catholic Priest, Along Otobi Amejo-Ajegbe Road, Benue State

Reverend Father John Inalegwu Otache, the Parish Priest of St. Margaret’s Parish, Ajegbe-Awume, has reportedly been kidn@pped by g¥nmen along the Otobi Amejo-Ajegbe road in Ohimini LGA, Benue State.

Otache was reportedly abducted on Tuesday while returning from Otukpo.

The Catholic Diocese of Otukpo confirmed the incident in a statement issued on Friday and signed by the Diocesan Chancellor, Reverend Father Joseph Aboyi Itodo.

According to the statement, the Bishop of the diocese, Most Rev. Michael Ekwoyi Apochi, was deeply pained by the incident and called on Christians and people of goodwill to pray for the priest’s safe and speedy release.

The diocese added that efforts were being intensified to secure his release, noting that it was the second time a priest serving at St. Margaret’s Parish, Ajegbe-Awume, had been kidn@pped.

Meanwhile, the Benue State Police Command’s spokesperson, DSP Peter Aondongu, said the police were investigating the reported abd¥ction.

“I don’t have that report yet. They said he was coming from Ohimini and going to Otukpo. He is a Catholic priest, a Reverend Father. They said it happened on Tuesday,” Aondongu said.

He later added, “Yes, they confirmed it. I can confirm that it happened on Tuesday. He has not been rescued yet. Our teams are still making efforts to rescue him.”

Contemporary literature is dying.

If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know that my favorite (somewhat cheeky) claim is that contemporary literature sucks, and, in many ways, it does. Ben Lerner is an emotionless hack, Ottessa Moshfegh’s writing has no soul, and Sally Rooney never graduated from kindergarten. Even sadder is the fact that these writers represent the supposed upper echelon of literary prowess—as BookTok romantasy girls will often remind us, it only goes downhill from there. But unlike most writers who make up the contemporary literary establishment, I am not a nihilist but an optimist—I believe in the power of humanity, and this (admittedly) naive outlook has convinced me time and time again that these writers deserve a chance. That is why I’ve actually subjected myself to literary abominations such as The Topeka School, My Year of Rest and Relaxation, and Normal People, among others: every time I dive into these novels, I hope to stumble on a gem that might restore my faith in the contemporary literary milieu.

That’s why this past weekend, I really tried to give Anne Carson a chance.

Unless you live under a rock, you’ve probably heard by now that this past Thursday, Canadian poet Anne Carson took home the Nobel Prize in Literature. Before the big news, I’d only ever read If Not, Winter—Carson’s translations of the poems of Sappho—so I went into our newest Nobel laureate’s work with an open mind—and trust me, I really wanted to like her. Her Wikipedia page, for one, paints her as a serious literary scholar—versed in the likes of Homer, Euripides, Sophocles, Emily Dickinson, and Franz Kafka—and in a recent viral interview with The New Yorker, Carson even states that she doesn’t read contemporary novels—she reads old books.

For a moment, I thought I’d found a kindred spirit in the literary world—or, at least, a rare anomaly: a classically educated writer who desires to preserve rather than to destroy the literary tradition—but after reading dozens and dozens of Carson’s poems, I was not merely disappointed but downright devastated.

Carson’s poems are really, really bad.
