Simon Spiess

My composition residency in Flores, a lovely little island in the Azores, is finally over! It was the perfect place to dive into new material, surrounded by nature and breathtaking views. I loved spending each day playing the piano and the horn at the local museum, where the acoustics were just amazing. It was such an inspiring experience. I’m back home with twelve new tunes and a treasure trove of ideas and notes. In the evenings, I took walks and snapped some photos that I’m excited to share with you.

I also had the pleasure of reading @thisispattismith new book, which I truly admire!

And finally, I want to express my deepest gratitude to @andreaswaelti and @luca_sisera of @unitrecordsofficial for giving me this incredible opportunity! It was a mesmerizing residency, filled with love, self-reflection, and focused work. Thank you so much!
