Very proud to have written an essay for the catalogue of ‘Francis Picabia: Ouvrir les portes de la nuit’, published by @skira_arte to accompany the beautiful exhibition at @palazzorealemilano in Milan, curated by Anne Berest Picabia.
I wrote about Picabia’s Points, painted in the final years of his life, and how they might be seen as a return to his early Impressionist explorations of light, half a century and countless artistic reinventions later.
The exhibition, the largest ever dedicated to Francis Picabia in Italy, brings together over 170 works and is on view until January 2027.
