Our firefighters moved a SkyTrain! 🚒🚆
But the real story is WHY?
VFRS crews train for much more than fires. Complex emergencies can require specialized skills and close coordination between responding agencies. Training together develops that experience before an emergency happens. Working with @translink, crews recently took part in an exercise involving a SkyTrain car, giving firefighters hands-on experience with the systems and challenges they could encounter during an emergency.

Remember DON’T JUMP ON THE TRACK because YOU’LL NEVER COME BACK. These are professionals with specialized equipment, permission and proper safety controls in place.

It is always a joy when I’ve been able to train first responders in this way in Toronto.

Good!! Firefighters deserve to be trained properly so they can do their job safely with confidence. Translink should be doing more to accommodate training especially with the new train cars but they likely didn’t think about that until the medical emergency at Nanaimo station a couple months ago.
