I’m sure we’ve all been guilty of this at least once in our lives. I know I have. 🥹
One thing I’m learning as I mature, both spiritually and personally, is that it’s okay to be content. For so long, I think I subconsciously associated contentment with complacency. Almost as if being satisfied meant I was no longer growing, progressing, or exercising faith.
But I’m learning that there’s a beautiful balance between having expectations for the future and being genuinely grateful for the present.
And if I can be vulnerable, sometimes I put unnecessary pressure on myself to constantly be accomplishing, becoming, building, or pursuing something. Not because God is demanding it of me, but because somewhere along the way, I convinced myself that stillness meant stagnation.
I’m learning to give myself permission to enjoy my life without feeling like I should always be doing more.
There is so much peace in trusting God without constantly needing to know what He’s doing.
I still have dreams, desires, and things I’m believing Him for, but I refuse to let the pursuit of more rob me of the joy of ENOUGH.
This is a lesson I’m still learning, but I’m grateful for the growth. 🤍
