Meet MARIE aka LACE D !! She’ll be part of our artist exhibition and present some fresh video work to please your eyes. 🌀
🪩 ABOUT
Marie is a dancer, animator and videographer from Cologne. Dance has been at the centre of her life for over ten years. She started with Breaking and later developed an interest in other styles, including Hip Hop, House and Waacking.
Her love for moving images led her to videography. In 2024, she took an important step towards filming dance through an interdisciplinary project by Roots & Routes, where she joined the media team because of her work in animation.
She is particularly interested in the impact different dance styles can have. Through her own experience, she knows that dance can bring out different sides of a person, and she is fascinated by seeing this process in other women as well.
Dance often confronts us with qualities that society does not traditionally associate with us, or even reduces to stereotypes. Its empowering and character-building potential continues to inspire her, and capturing that process on film is what drives her.
