I really enjoyed my first @bike.adventure.squad Bike Breakfast Club while I was on holiday last week, but as I don’t have to go into Brum for work, and getting there and back before I start would be tight. I decided to do a solo version this morning. A quick look at coffee shops that are open early enough and I ended up at Nomad coffee. A muffin and a flat white consumed,it was time for work. Potentially the first in a series, trying different venues, watch this space. #bikecommute #coffeeandcake #gravelbike

I’ve had a late call-up to the World Championships 🥹💛💚

After a year that has sometimes left me feeling profoundly let down and lost despite my best efforts, this opportunity means so much to me. For that, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little more nervous than usual🥹. I’ve always found comfort in meticulous preparation, so finding out so late means I haven’t quite been afforded the luxury of preparing with the specificity I usually demand of myself.

But over the past two seasons, I’ve raced more track than ever before, travelling across the world chasing the highest level races, collecting experiences to inform better tactics and become a more complete rider. There is something quite poignant about pursuing an art with no promise that it will necessarily amount to anything, but out of love for what you do ❤️

So although the road here has looked very unexpected, I don’t think it’s been by accident. Luckily I’ve also always been pretty good at doing my homework at the last minute 😉

Omnium, scratch race, team pursuit and Madison will also be my biggest world champs schedule to date. Four opportunities to join a great team and make the most of a chance I’m incredibly grateful to have. 💛💚😊
