Nineteen-year-old Ramontreal Hodge deserved a future. His loved ones deserved the chance to watch him grow up and realize his dreams. His friends and peers deserve to feel safe in their communities. But Ramontreal is now among the countless young people whose lives have been taken by gun violence because craven politicians refuse to take action to protect us.

If you knew my brother, you knew he almost never wore shoes, drew flames on everything, was always building a sword or a guitar, and was really freaking good at martial arts. But most of all, he was the most loyal brother. Through everything he struggled with, he showed up every time I asked and even when I didn’t. I’m going to miss this wild man so much.
