Hike over to Booker Creek Trail and discover new art!

Kristen Solecki (@kristensolecki)’s new art shelter, “Hiking Home,” is on East Franklin Street at Eastgate Crossing.

It features a raccoon departing the city to hike back to their home in the woods.

“We have so many great trails and wooded areas in Chapel Hill to see and explore and I love that some are integrated within downtown Chapel Hill,” Kristen says. “I wanted this to be a fun, interactive piece to inspire the community to spend time in nature and also bring a sense of fun and whimsy to their daily commute.”

This is one of five new pieces in our latest round of bus shelter artwork, part of our Art + Transit collab with @chtransit.

I love this one. I see it every time I take the CL to Trader Joe's.
