Back in February, Trump started a war with Iran. His own generals warned him Iran would shut the one strip of water a fifth of the world's oil sails through. He said they wouldn't dare. They did, and it turned into the biggest oil crisis in history. That's why gas prices are so high.
So with an election coming, he called Putin to wish him a happy birthday. Putin promised diesel. Trump dropped the sanctions on Russian fuel. America got about a day and a half's worth.

If Iran was 30% enrichment away from having a nuke, they should’ve been 87% away, with a nuke they could control the straight fully. Oil would be more expensive. We have lots of oil, it’s just companies find it more profitable to sell abroad.
