Always find something good to appreciate in a person. ❤️

You may notice many things about them that you don’t agree with. You may not like their behaviour, their choices, or the way they treat others. But somewhere, there will always be one good quality in them that deserves to be acknowledged. Look for that. Learn to recognise it.

And do this not for them, not to create a perfect image of yourself, and certainly not to make the world see you through rose-tinted glasses. The world will have its own opinions about you, and you cannot control them.

Do it for yourself.

Because every time you consciously choose to see the good in someone, a little part of you begins to transform. Your heart learns to make room for kindness. Your mind learns to move away from unnecessary negativity. And slowly, you become a person who carries more peace within.

This doesn’t mean ignoring someone’s flaws, accepting hurtful behaviour, or allowing people to walk all over you. You can recognise the good in someone and still maintain your boundaries. You can appreciate a quality without agreeing with the person.

The more negativity you allow to occupy your mind, the heavier your own life becomes.

And perhaps, in the most beautiful way, this is where a little selfishness is actually good for the soul. If you want to be happy, if you want to be healthy in your thoughts, and if you want to live with a lighter heart, begin here.

Start by identifying one good thing in every person you meet.

Not everyone needs your approval. Not everyone needs a place in your life. But you can choose not to let their imperfections become the source of your own negativity.

Choose to see the good. Choose to appreciate it. Choose to protect your peace.
